Singapore Night Safari

We ate our very late lunch and early dinner at Esplanade before going to the Night Safari. From Esplanade, we rode the train and got off Ang Mo Kio Station. Then we took the bus service from Ang Mo Kio Station going to Mandai Lake around 6:30PM. It was an hour ride from the rural area to the suburbs. Mandai Lake is part of the suburbs at singapore and it is close to Malaysia’s border already. This is also where the bird pirk and the Singapore Zoo is situated.

We hopped off the bus and arrived Singapore Night Safari at exactly 7:30PM.

Tickets where sold for $36 SGD. It includes the different shows and the tram ride at the Safari already. Right after paying for our admission tickets, we hurriedly went to the Tram Station since it’s getting late and a lot of people are falling inline at the station already.

We were welcomed by Fire Dancers/Performers upon entering the premises of Night Safari

The tram ride really psyched us! It was really an unforgettable experience. It was a 40minute journey of wild animal encounters. The tram ride has a tour guide who commentates all throughout the journey. We got a chance to come up close with different animals and we saw animals in a different kind of way.

Some Pictures doing the Tram Ride

I only got a few decent pictures of the hundreds of animals that we say during the tram ride because it’s kinda dark. The tram rail was really pitch dark and the only lighted place that we can see is the places/habitats of the animals, Plus! There are no barricades or the-likes. It’s really scary and fun at the same time because you will never know if there’s an animal who’s going to jump at you or what.

After the tram ride, we headed off at the arena to watch the Creatures of the night show..

The Arena is actually pretty big. I failed to get a snapshot of the arena because I was using my 50mm lens and I felt so lazy to change my lens.

The show started of with a girl who has a snake on her shoulder, walking from the benches of the audience and off to the stage. Then she performed a dance which they called, ‘Snake Dance’. It was very surreal to watch live.

Some parts of the show..

The show ended at around 11PM. We just decided to check the shops and ditch the other trails because we need to catch the bus service which only goes until 12mn.

At the Night Safari’s Souvenir Shop..

Prices at the souvenir shop are pretty steep!

But I got these Baby Elephants keychains instead! 6 pcs for $50 SGD.

Some souvenir shops at the Safari..

There are also a lot of food shops/restaurants inside the Safari. But as what i’ve said earlier, prices are really steep and unreasonable. Well, if you’ll be converting in peso, that is.

Took the bus service on the way to our condominium at around 11:30PM. Had fun, though we weren’t able to push though the other trails. Till next time, Night Safari! :)
